I hope all is well back in Utah! I had a really great week in Rockport. Even though most of the week was not spent there. I got the opportunity to go on an exchange with one of our Zone leaders for about 2 1/2 days. Really good experience. I love seeing how missionary’s work that have a ton of experience. He is going home in about two weeks so I really was able to pick up a couple of things that I can use every day.
Ok so if all goes well, we should be baptizing two people next week! D*and J*. Great investigators and they are both progressing really well. On both of the situations, it really comes down to worthiness so I really hope they are keeping their commitments to follow the commandments. If you could keep these two in your prayers it would help a ton.
On Wednesday of this week, we got a text from a member in Flour Bluff, which is about an hour and a half from Rockport telling us about some former investigators she wanted to take by us that had just moved to Rockport. They are way cool. There names are J* and R*. They aren’t married because R* is still married to another woman. He will have to get divorced, or one of them has to move out. They are both super down for either and I’m really excited to be teaching them. They really want things to change in their life and we think we can really help them.
So on Friday, we were doing weekly planning and the Zone leaders called us and said you have to be in McAllen tomorrow at 8:30. We were like “what the heck! What did we do?” We called the other Elders and they were going too and it turned out to be a mission wide conference. We were all sitting there, not really knowing what to expect, because the mission literally never gets together except for this Christmas time. President walked in and we all stood up and behind him was Elder Lawrence E. Corbridge of the Seventy. He came in and spoke to all of us for about 2 hours straight. No notes, just a little PowerPoint that had hardly anything on it. Crazy right? He was awesome. I got a ton out of his talk and felt very inspired. I got about 12 pages of notes down so It would be hard to tell you all what he spoke about.
Nothing much other than those things went on. We did service for an old lady across the street that really looked like she shouldn’t be raking leaves all by herself. She was really cool and agreed that we could come back and share a lesson. That will be nice having an investigator right across the street right?
Anyways, I love you all a ton. I hope you all have a fantastic week!
