Building Up Steam

Hey Family!

So, what a wonderful wonderful week. Elder Wilson and I were working pretty dang hard this week to try to make things happen. We have been picking up and dropping investigators pretty frequently trying to find some good people that are ready to accept the restored gospel of Christ.

One of the coolest things that happened this week is the Cavasos family made it out to church. That was a pay day in the mission field. They are picking up steam in the gospel for sure. Elder Wilson and I promised them this week that if they read the Book of Mormon every day as a couple, and pray afterwards to find it’s truthfulness, that they will get their answer. I felt so strongly to promise them this blessing. I know the power of the Book of Mormon and the real strength it has to change lives around. The best part is they have been keeping this commitment! One cool thing as well is that Sis Cavasos was sick. She was sneezing and coughing in sacrament meeting. She said she still decided to come because she made us a promise she would!

We are still working with Ramon and Feliciana. They are progressing really really well it’s just they have missed a lot of weeks at church now. They were coming this past week and literally as they got off the phone with us telling us they were on their way, he got an emergency call from his business telling him a truck delivering something from out of state got there early and they needed to unload it. So, slowly but surely they are coming along. They have a reset baptismal date for the last Sunday of the month. They were really disappointed to hear they couldn’t get baptized this Sunday and they are going to do their best not to miss again.

Our recent convert, Adelaida has been in the hospital now for a week. She was so scared to even go to the hospital because they don’t have their papers. We called bishop and he informed us that they don’t deport people out of hospitals so we gave them a ride to the local hospital. She was diagnosed with a really bad case of phenomena in her left side. She had some pretty sever pain but we gave her a blessing and slowly but surely she is getting better. They are both doing really good other than that.

Thank you for all your continued support and prayers. I love you all.

Elder Russell
