Surprise Baptism!

Hey Family!

I hope everyone had a great week in Good Ol’ Utah! South Texas has been heating up and we hit the high 90’s and one day 103 at one point. It was so hot here. With the humidity and everything it felt like we were in the middle of July!

This week has been really good. We have been focusing a lot of our efforts on the Murillo Family. They are, in total, a family of 5 people. Susie, Bernie, Coral, and Anthony, and the Dad. So, we were planning on baptizing Suzy the whole time this week and the kids were kind of hesitant. There were a couple of crazy miracles that happened at there baptismal interviews though! It was some super great stuff. In the interview, Bernie decided baptism would be super good to do especially because his mom was getting baptized this Sunday. Coral also decided she wanted to but she’s not quite sure when yet. But, Everything went perfect and Susie and Bernie got baptized! It was super awesome and I got the wonderful privilege of baptizing both of them. It made my whole week 🙂

The whole family was at the baptism and the husband was SO cool. He is really excited about the gospel and even asked for a hymn book when he goes out of town to work. He works in random places looking for petroleum. He goes anywhere from Utah, Alaska, or other places. He’s great and has a real future in the church. His kids are our main focus right now because he goes out of town Tuesday for a couple of months. We hope to baptize the rest of them in a couple of weeks. The only bummer is stake conference is next week so the confirmations are in two weeks instead of one.

Elder Jobs and I are just trying to set up the best we can for this upcoming March. We feel like it will be a good month and we definitely want to break out our white pants as many times as we can. Quickly I want to add my testimony to this email of the hand of the Lord in our lives. I testify He is. He is in the details of our every day lives. He is our Father. He listens to our prayers and He cares. I know that we have a Savior, Jesus Christ. I feel his love so much on my mission. The key to happiness is so simple. He asks us to follow his gospel plan. Go to church, pray, and read the scriptures. Especially the Book of Mormon, being the most correct of any book. Anybody who is reading this I challenge, if they aren’t, to get a closer relationship with our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ through these three things. I promise you all so much more happiness, peace, and joy if you do. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lords chosen church in these last days.

Anyways, I love you all! I hope you all have great weeks and everything goes well.
