Wow. What a week! WE HAD SO MANY COOL THINGS HAPPEN THIS WEEK! The Lord really does love us. I will try to tell about a few of the miracles and try to do them justice.
Ok first story. I was on exchanges this last week with one of our DL’s, Elder Olivera. That was so stinking fun. We had such a good time together. He is trying to convince me to go to BYU Idaho with him! Haha. Something to think about. Anyways, we got the opportunity on the exchange to work at the food pantry in a town called Alice Tx. I was the guy who would take the food out, put it in their car, and try to get return appointments. Way effective….only one person said no! Given, he was the priest of another church that was OK. Anyways, one of the guys who came in, I gave him the pitch about coming over to his house and he said, “Well, I’m already baptized, a firm believer in the Book of Mormon, and a huge fan of captain Moroni. This guy did NOT look like a member. It would shock you and you wouldn’t want to meet him in a dark alley. Anyways, he continued to tell me they lost his records and he wouldn’t mind getting baptized again! Great potential for the other guys.
Second, Elder Moser, while I was on exchange set a BD with a Mom of a part member family, Gloria Rojas. She’s awesome. She came to church on Sunday and loved it. Should be getting baptized here at the end of the month.
Third, we went over to Luis’s house (guy who came to church last week) and we set a baptismal date! It was great. The Spirit was strong and it seemed like he was comprehending everything. But, right at the end when we were teaching him how to pray, his neighbor was just watching us from behind his fence. After the prayer I said “Hey how are you!” and he ended up asking us to say a prayer for him. We asked him why and he said his house is brand new and the people that lived there before were literal devil worshipers. So, I ended up being the one who gave the blessing on the home and it was awesome. The family loved it. We taught them about the priesthood. They are really interested and we set a baptismal date with that family and now they want to get married! Super cool stuff. Their names are Leo and Myra. They are such a nice couple. The only down side is they didn’t make it to church yesterday but this coming week for sure!
Also, another cool story, is we were helping a less active member this week paint his house. His non member friend came over to say hi. He only spoke Spanish and I noticed his house was super big and he had a hummer truck. We invited him to church and he said he would really like it! I asked Jeremiah (the member) what he did for a living and he told me he used to be a drug lord in Mexico. That’s exciting! Anyways…
Love you all! Hope you all have a great week.
